Sound Post Gauge measures the Length of the
sound post
Master Gauge also measures Contact Angle at
belly and back of Violin.

HOW IT WORKS
The gauge consists of two parts. Main Body (A) and Sliding Stem
(D). The two parts are held together by controlled friction, thus the
length can be expanded and contracted at will |

The gauge is set to dimension
slightly longer than expected sound post. It is first introduced into
high part (center) of violin sound Box. When moved to lower area in
the violin, the violin sound post gauge will assume the length
at that position. It is the carefully withdrawn retaining this new
length. |

SOUND POST GAUGE
A swivel cap is added to either one or both ends of the gauge.
When introduced inside the violin sound box and pressed against belly
and/or back the cap will assume angle at the contact point.
The gauge is then removed and a special thin, light metal plate can be
magnetically attached showing the angle at the swivel cap. See more
